Ministerial list: Shehu Sani knocks Tinubu for nominating El-Rufai, former governors

<p>A former senator, Shehu Sani, has said President Bola Tinubu’s nomination of former governors, especially Nasir El-Rufai from Kaduna State may turn out to be a tragedy.</p>, <p>Speaking on Arise Television show on Friday, Sani said that El-Rufai has no permanent loyalty and he is a fair-weather man.</p>, <p>“With the nominations which I have seen, the one representing Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, is a tragedy,” the former lawmaker said.</p>, <p>“That such a man is given an opportunity to serve this country with all that he has done and has said in office.</p>, <p>“I don’t think that if President Tinubu means well, this is not the best time to please and appease former governors.</p>, <p>“It is the best time to appease Nigerians and to bring in competent hands to deliver. As far as I am concerned, that list to a large extent is a big disappointment.”</p>, <p>Citing the face-off between former president Olusegun Obasanjo and his vice, Atiku Abubakar, Sani alleged that El-Rufai, who was a minister during that administration, was the reason both leaders disagreed.</p>, <p>Sani predicted that El-Rufai will later cause chaos between President Tinubu, his cabinet, and state governors.</p>, <p>“Was he (El-Rufai) not a Minister when issues came up between Obasanjo and Atiku? It is going to be the same thing. If you see any discord between President Tinubu and Shettima, the same person caused it,” Sani said.</p>, <p>“If you see any discord between Mr president and members of his cabinet, he is still going to be the person that planted that discord. He has that history and track record.</p>, <p>“This is not a prophecy but a proven fact of what had happened, so I am saying that they have brought a serpent into their government.
