This week Nicky Lambert and Dave Munday spoke with guests Lucy Hayes and Bethan Jones about being more than ‘just’ a student nurse. LH - Lucy Hayes (@lucy_uo) is a third-year adult student nurse at the University of Birmingham. As well as being a member of the @WeStudentNurse team she is RCN student committee member for the West Midlands and Academic Officer for the university's nursing society, and blogs about her nursing journey at thenursepatient.wordpress.com. when not doing nursing related things she enjoys reading, playing pokemon go and board games. BJ - Hi my name is Bethan Jones! I'm a 2nd (almost 3rd) year MSc Nursing student studying dual registration nursing in childrens and mental health at the University of Leicester with an additonal Leadership Qualification. I have a previos degree in Medical Physiology and my main goal is to go in to nursing research (not sure which area yet) Specific topics i'm passionate about are young peoples mental health and sexual health Outside of nursing I'm an avid ballroom dancer competing on the university and open circuits. I've been on the WeStudentNurses team for a year now with no sign of quitting anytime soon! SK - Sam is a second year student Learning Disability nurse studying at the University of Hull. KT - My name is Kirstin Totten and I’m a 3rd year student nurse from Edinburgh Napier University doing adult nursing. The areas I feel passionate about are palliative and end of life care and sexual health. I have a condition called endometriosis which I have been raising awareness for to educate others.
