Matthew, also known as Levi, was a tax collector. Although this may not be a big deal in today's society, back then it was a problem. Tax collectors were hated. They were notorious for receiving other people's money and lending it out at high-interest rates to make a profit for themselves. Kind of like credit card companies. <br><br> Jesus called Matthew. A sinner. A tax collector. The lowest of the low. This means that Jesus wants everyone. Even those who believe they have done too many wrongs to be forgiven. Jesus wants you.
