Market Reaction to FOMC Minutes

<p>U.S. equities moved lower as the dollar inched higher Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022 following the release of FOMC minutes, Jill Malandrino reports. The initial market reaction came after the Federal Reserve decision makers held mixed opinions regarding the balance sheet and what they plan to do with interest rates, resulting in uncertainty. Malandrino says that in looking ahead a lot still depends on what happens with the Omicron variant of COVID-19, the severity of which will determine how quickly more economic operations resume. </p><p><br></p>
