Maria Chammah - Fashion Expert and Historian

<p>Maria is a New York based fashion expert and historian. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Although her love for fashion started very early in life reading every fashion magazine she would come across; Maria studied law. Realizing that albeit a great education it was not for her she perused her first Master in Fashion Management Experience and Design from SDA Bocconi in Milan similar to an MBA in Fashion. Following her tenure in Milan, Maria moved to New York where the job of fashion photo producer found her. After a couple of years producing in the city she moved back to Buenos Aires and continued setting up her own production company; Now Here Productions. She spent more than 10 years producing fashion shoots around the world catering to the most demanding clientele. In 2019 she moved back to New York and is currently perusing her second Master’s Degree in Costume Studies at NYU focused on the history of dress and textiles in its broadest aesthetic and cultural context. Maria is pivoting her career from fashion photo producer to fashion historian.</p> <p><br> In this Episode she speaks with Turna Uyar, Sotheby’s SVP about her transition from Formal Education to the creative world, from Law School into Fashion Photo Production and her recent education of Costume Studies at NYU.</p>
