Managing Orthostasis in Patients on Clozapine
Hamed Lopez
Description
<p>In this episode, we discuss the causes of clozapine-induced orthostasis. Although some patients may develop tolerance, it can limit titration and potentially obstruct patients from reaching the plasma level where they respond well to the medication. There are practical management strategies for orthostasis, including slow titration based on patient complaints and encouraging fluid intake, among others.</p> <p>Faculty: Jonathan Meyer, M.D.<br /> Host: Richard Seeber, M.D.</p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: bold;"><a href= "https://psychopharmacologyinstitute.com/cme-program?section=pricing&utm_source=Podcast&utm_medium=Podcast&utm_campaign=[Libsyn]OPC261" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Learn more about our memberships here</strong></a></li> <li style="font-weight: bold;"><a href= "https://psychopharmacologyinstitute.com/publication/managing-some-unique-nonhematologic-adverse-effects-of-clozapine-2688?utm_source=Podcast&utm_medium=Podcast&utm_campaign=[Libsyn]OPC261" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Earn 1.25 CME: Managing Some Unique Nonhematologic Adverse Effects of Clozapine</strong></a></li> <li style="font-weight: bold;"><a href= "https://psychopharmacologyinstitute.com/section/managing-clozapine-related-orthostasis-2688-5331?utm_source=Podcast&utm_medium=Podcast&utm_campaign=[Libsyn]OPC261" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Managing Clozapine-Related Orthostasis</strong></a></li> </ul>
