<p>How is social change advanced? How do leaders build institutions in low-trusting environments? How do we inspire, design, plan, influence, guide, steer and make change in our relationships, our communities, our society, and our planet? These are some of the questions about making change that we navigate in the conversation with Andrew Boraine. </p><p>Andrew Bonaire joins our host, Annelisse Escobar to discuss the process of change through his experience in post-Apartheid South Africa. Andrew refers to the process of change as a <em>transition</em>. A transition can be defined as a fundamental change in the way a society meets its needs. </p><p>He is an international expert on economic and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_development" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">urban </a>development and partnering for systems change, who has worked in the development sector in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Africa" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">South Africa</a> for more than 41 years. He was a senior official in the constitutional department of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson_Mandela" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Nelson Mandela</a>’s government in the immediate post-<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apartheid" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Apartheid</a> years and was the first post-<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apartheid" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Apartheid</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_Manager" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">City Manager</a> of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_Town" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cape Town</a>. He served as CEO of the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Cape" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Western Cape</a> Economic Development Partnership.
