Luke 15:1-7 - Jesus Came for the Lost

Many people at Jesus' time had thoughts about Jesus' purpose, but here Jesus makes his purpose clear. Jesus came to save those who were lost. But what does it mean to be lost? Lostness isn't a matter of moral bankruptcy. Lostness is the spiritual bankruptcy of unrepentance. Jesus wants us to admit our spiritual lostness, because Jesus is in search of the lost. When he finds us, he carries us, and celebrates that someone who used to be lost is now found!
