<p>On March 1st, 1983, Louis Hastings killed almost one-third of the residents of a tiny community in the Alaska Wilderness. It is believed that he killed his neighbors in an elaborate plot to destroy the Trans-Alaska oil pipeline and end his own life. </p><p>Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murderous actions committed by Louis Hastings. At the time of the shootings, 22 people lived in and around the McCarthy, Alaska area. McCarthy had no running water, no electric grid, and very little contact with the outside world. Hastings' marriage and business were failing when he moved out to McCarthy full-time.
