Live Long & Prosper

<p>"Live long & Prosper".  A parting sentiment expressed by Vulcans.  Hopefully you know what I'm referring to.  As a child of the 50's and 60's my favorite TV program was Star Trek (the original version with Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock).  I loved that character both for his intelligence and for his emotional control, which is a central theme of Vulcan culture.</p> <p>Maybe I saw Mr. Spock as a role model because (being a teenager at the time) my emotions were on overdrive.  I felt completely out of control and I could see that my emotions were getting the better of me and causing problems.   </p>
