<p>Suddenly it feels like everyone is talking about the metaverse, doesn&rsquo;t it? But what exactly <em>is</em> the metaverse? Wikipedia describes it as &ldquo;a network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connection,&rdquo; but the only real consensus seems to be that it&rsquo;s going to be, well, <em>huge</em>. Google, Apple, Snapchat, and Microsoft have all made major investments and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg even renamed his company, Meta.
