Listener Story: Louise Bichan, Part 2

<p>About Louise: </p><p>Hailing from Orkney, in Scotland, where she grew up surrounded by fiddle music and inspired by the island landscape, Louise Bichan then spent much of her twenties immersed in the Glasgow music scene, both as a fiddler and as a photographer, taking portraits of her peers. She graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2011 with a specialism in Visual Communications and photography. Bichan performed far and wide, including Tonder Festival in Denmark, Lorient Interceltique Festival in France, Milwaukee Irish Festival and on BBC TV’s Hogmanay Live, with the likes of Fara and Rachel Sermanni, before moving to Boston in the US. Since graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2019, she has been touring extensively with Corner House, Bellwether and in a duo with mandolinist Ethan Setiawan.
