I was controlling the interaction and getting a lot out of being the gal that can do it all! I was the person that anticipated your appointment time and your beverage of choice. I have since learned that I was forfeiting genuine, meaningful connections when I did that. The very thing I craved most was canceled out by my inability to show up to the moment honestly, with limits and preferences.
