In this Aging GreatFULLy power-hour, we continue with part two of our last conversation talking about grief, healing, love and even light after loss, as we welcome special guest, Ashley Davis Bush, LICSW. Ashley has over thirty years of experience as a psychotherapist in private practice and is the author of ten self-help books, including her most recent work, Light After Loss: A Spiritual Guide for Comfort, Hope and Healing. She is trained in EMDR trauma work, as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy, is a Reiki master and a spiritual director who draws on many healing modalities. <br />Listeners will appreciate the depth and tenderness this conversation offers as we welcome them into the light – and discuss so many important facets of grieving experiences we face in life – including why it is so important to grieve and how grieving has changed over the years. We expand on our last conversation furthering ways we can support others during their grieving journey and even defining our own terms of how we need to grieve. <br />We talk about expectations of others when it comes to grief and even judgement regarding the grieving process and how we can educate others around us when we are in this place as to what we need for the grieving process. We acknowledge that while grief won’t have an expiration date, we can begin the process of healing through light – recognizing our own illuminating from within and as our guest shares in her work and book, Light After Loss, through Light-Shift practices. We focus on a multitude of ways to make meaning out of loss, to celebrate our loved ones, especially during the holidays and special anniversary occasions when we might feel especially heartbroken in the depths of bereavement – to bring them closer to us and warm our heart and soul with love. <br />Listeners will truly appreciate the wisdom-packed hour as we analyze grief from so many different perspectives in an effort to help everyone better understand it towards healing, hope and finding purpose to live in the light again f
