Lessons from a Football Coach

<p>I thought it was going to be <em>the</em> best year when 2020 started. Everything was going great: I had a vacation with my family in Puerto Rico, my Amazon business was booming, and we had a remodeling in the house. Then, the pandemic hit - hard and fast. Like many people, I was impacted by the quarantine, the uncertainty, and the struggles of COVID-19. But someone inspired me out of my recent rut. Someone who, despite life’s challenges and physical limitations, strove to reach his dreams. That someone is high school football coach Rob Mendez.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p>In this episode, I share the story of coach Rob Mendez, how he aspired to become a football coach despite having the Tetra-amelia syndrome, and the four key lessons I learned from his life. I underscore the importance of refining your skills and capabilities to the best of your ability and illustrate how some of the words we use can limit us.
