Khidr Aleyhisselam, also known as Al Khidr, The Green One, or Hızır, is one of the most mysterious figures in the Qur’an. In Surah Al Kahf 18:60–82, the Qur’an tells us the story of Prophet Musa, also known as Moses, and his extraordinary encounter with Khidr. This is not an ordinary meeting but one filled with lessons about destiny, divine knowledge, patience, and trust in Allah’s plan. The story of Musa and Khidr is among the deepest Qur’anic narratives, showing us that what appears confusing in the moment often carries hidden wisdom. Who is Khidr? Why does the Qur’an describe him as a servant of Allah blessed with mercy and taught knowledge directly from the Divine Presence? What is the meaning of ilm ladunni, this hidden knowledge that Khidr possesses? Why do Sufi masters such as Ibn Arabi and poets like Rumi describe him as the eternal guide, the hidden teacher who moves outside of ordinary time and space? In this video, we explore Khidr Aleyhisselam in detail, from his Qur’anic role to the symbolic meaning he holds in Sufi tradition, and his relationship with time, destiny, and dimensions beyond human perception. In this presentation, we will explore: Khidr’s unique role in the Qur’an as a figure who acts with divine knowledge beyond human reasoning. The meaning of ‘ilm ladunni — the direct knowledge from Allah’s presence. Khidr as a symbol in Sufi spirituality: the hidden guide, the teacher of those who walk alone, the bridge between the seen (zahir) and unseen (batin) worlds. Interpretations of Khidr’s awareness as a form of non-linear time perception, where past, present, and future are a single unfolding moment.
