The Kenyan government has admitted that it is facing a cash crunch that has delayed the payment of salaries for thousands of public workers. <br />Finance Minister Njuguna Ndung’u says the government was facing financial constraints triggered by underperforming revenues and limited access to credit. <br />Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has blamed the crisis on the former government which he accuses of borrowing heavily while in power and raiding the treasury before it left power last year. <br />Presidential economic adviser David Ndii says the delayed salaries were not a crisis and termed the situation as an operational liquidity crunch.
