Kano: Police issue fresh warning to APC, NNPP

<p>The Kano State police command has issued a fresh warning against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) planned rally.</p>, <p>The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Hussaini Gumel, spoke in a telephone conversation with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Kano.</p>, <p>Gumel stated that the command has already begun vigorous patrols in and around the city to maintain law and order.</p>, <p>He said armed security personnel had been dispatched to crucial areas in the state to deal with any type of security threat.</p>, <p>“As far as this command is concerned, we have not permitted the two major political parties to engage in any form of protest in our areas of supervision,” he said.</p>, <p>He urged the people to go about their legal business without fear of being molested.</p>, <p>He stated that the police and sister security organizations were working together to ensure adequate security for the state’s lives and property.</p>, <p>He also advised the leaders of the two parties to follow through on the peace treaties they signed.</p>, <p>He urged parents to keep a tight eye on their children’s movements since anyone detected breaking the peace would be detained and prosecuted.</p>
