Description
<p><strong>Episode Summary: </strong></p><p>Today, I’m joined by documentary filmmaker and a professor of filmmaking at UC Davis, Julie Wyman. Julie’s work aims to challenge and expand our culture's narrow range of representative bodies, and her latest project is no different. As an adult, Julie was diagnosed with a form of dwarfism called Hypochondroplasia. Her diagnosis was part of the inspiration behind the documentary she’s currently working on, and on today’s episode, we discuss her vision for the film and some of the highlights and challenges that it’s presenting. </p><br><p><strong>Listen to the episode on </strong><a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/cl/podcast/art-heals-all-wounds/id1550209619?l=en" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Apple Podcasts</strong></a><strong>, </strong><a href="https://open.spotify.com/show/7vrCRZOQrcvVSdygdfFIuW?si=f1977579cdd8479d" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Spotify</strong></a><strong>, </strong><a href="https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5hY2FzdC5jb20vcHVibGljL3Nob3dzL2FydC1oZWFscy1hbGwtd291bmRz" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Google Podcasts</strong></a><strong>, </strong><a href="https://www.stitcher.com/show/art-heals-all-wounds" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Stitcher</strong></a><strong>, </strong><a href="https://castbox.fm/channel/id3824330?utm_campaign=ex_share_ch&utm_medium=exlink&country=us" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Castbox</strong></a><strong>, or on your favorite podcast platform.</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Topics Covered:</strong></p><p>● What drew Julie to the art of documentary filmmaking </p><p>● Identifying as a little person and person with a disability </p><p>● Her feelings about her diagnosis </p><p>● Performance and narrative filming elements that she plans to include in her documentary </p><p>● &n
