Description

Welcome to Serendipity Soup! The antidote to celebrity success podcasts.

This month's guest is Jo Behari. Several years ago, Jo took the plunge, quit her office job and set up the UK’s first all-female home improvement and property maintenance company. From there her career developed into freelance project management, writing her own book on DIY, and television work including presenting a DIY series called ‘Make, Do and Mend’ and her current role on the British TV magazine show ‘Steph’s Packed Lunch’.

I’d originally intended to interview Jo to talk about her pivot from office life to setting up her own company, which seemed brave enough. But – and I think this might be my first and probably my last exclusive – as we talked, she revealed that she’s decided to reduce some of her TV work so that she can try something completely different: being a therapist. I’m fairly sure my surprise comes across in the recording, but just to emphasise – and with apologies to all you therapists out there – I’m still having real trouble with the concept that someone would prioritise therapy over appearing on TV. But then, I’m not Jo. And as you’ll hear, she makes a very convincing case for following your heart.

Links to Jo's website, instagram and some of her books are below:

Jo’s website: https://jobehari.co.uk/

Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/diyjobehari/?hl=en

The Girl’s Guide to DIY: https://www.wob.com/en-gb/books/jo-behari/girl-s-guide-to-diy/9781847737540?gclid=CjwKCAjwxOCRBhA8EiwA0X8hi0HPKqAMzTEqjIpx3ccTcG6jf2
