<p>Everybody's on a journey. And today, I am so honored to share with you this very open and honest conversation. The multi-talented Jeremy Phillips is currently the Director of Production at the South Bend Civic Theatre. We both ask a lot of questions in this episode. What is the purpose of theatre? What stories are we hoping to tell? Are we educating or are we entertaining? Jeremy says: "We need to stop trying to pass off these trauma stories as entertainment. Are you trying to educate white people or are you trying to get more people of color in the audience? If we could focus more on JOY and stop creating more traumatic experiences in theatre and celebrate new works and stop trying to just insert people of color into traditionally white roles and calling that progress...we'd really be doing something great in American theatre."
