The prophet had dictated a scroll to Baruch, who wrote down Jeremiah’s words and then read them aloud in the temple. Baruch is brought to King Jehoiakim of Judah, who burns the scroll piece by piece in the fire. When Baruch returned, Jeremiah simply dictated the same message again. Today Jeremiah is accused of defecting to the Chaldean army, arrested, and thrown into a cistern. King Zedekiah meets with Jeremiah in secret one last time. Jeremiah urges Zedekiah to surrender to the king of Babylon, but Zedekiah refuses to listen and is taken captive.

:::

Christian Standard Bible translation.

All music written and produced by John Burgess Ross.

Co-produced by the Christian Standard Bible.

facebook.com/commuterbible

instagram.com/commuter_bible

twitter.com/CommuterPod

patreon.com/commuterbible

admin@commuterbible.org
