Its the Great Pumpkin, Chippewa Valley!

<p><strong>People, Places &amp; Passions Podcast presented by the City of Altoona, Wisconsin</strong></p> <p><br></p> <p><strong>Returning to River Prairie on Saturday September 23rd is the annual Ginormous Pumpkin Festival, a full day of activities headlined by farmers showcasing the largest pumpkins they can grow.</strong></p> <p><strong>Shannon Engel, a local farmer and member of the Wisconsin Giant Pumpkin Growers Association, visits to discuss the passion for growing “ginormous” pumpkins.  What is the largest pumpkins ever grown?  Scientifically, how does this happen?  </strong></p> <p><strong>Also, the other activities taking place. From baking contests, to costume contests, an artist market, Rubber Duck race and much more is in addition to the pumpkins.</strong></p> <p><br></p> <p><br></p>
