He should go to jail. <br /><br />Earlier this week, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) sent a letter to the House Oversight Committee, which was made public today, admitting that an NIH grant did fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology, despite Dr. Fauci vehemently denying it under oath on two separate occasions. <br /><br />🗓 In May 2021 Fauci testified to Senators that the NIH “has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”<br /><br />🗓 Then on July 20, 2021, Senator Rand Paul asked Fauci if he wanted to retract his statement from May, reminding him that "it is a crime to lie to Congress." Fauci defiantly replied, "I have never lied before the Congress and I do not retract that statement."<br /><br />🗓 The NIH letter from earlier this week admits that the NIH funded a contract to a U.S. medical research company called EcoHealth Alliance, which then sub-contracted the research to the Wuhan Institute of Virology during 2018 - 2019, which tested “if spike proteins from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor in a mouse model.” In this experiment, the experimental mice "became sicker" than the control group. This is a gain of function research. <br /><br />The NIH blamed EcoHealth Alliance for the oversight, saying, "EcoHealth failed to report this finding right away, as was required by the terms of the grant."<br /><br />Senator Rand Paul took a much-deserved victory lap, tweeting: <br />“I told you so” doesn’t even begin to cover it here<br />Senator Tom Cotton said:<br />"Fauci knew.
