‘It was not divorce on paper’ – Jada confirms separation from Will Smith

<p>American actress and talk show host, Jada Pinkett Smith has confirmed separation from her husband, actor Will Smith.</p>, <p>The 52-year-old said she and the ‘Bad Boys For Life’ actor have been living “completely separate lives” since 2016.</p>, <p>She disclosed this in a clip from her forthcoming NBC News primetime special with Hoda Kotb.</p>, <p>She said they are not legally divorced but have been separated for seven years.</p>, <p>“It was not a divorce on paper but it was a divorce. Since 2016, we have been living apart,” Pinkett said, adding that they had not previously gone public with their separation because they were not “ready yet.”</p>, <p>The couple got married in 1997 and were blessed with two children- a boy named Jaden, and a girl called Willow.</p>, <p>In July 2020, singer August Alsina revealed that he had been romantically involved with Pinkett Smith, something she confirmed during an episode with her husband on “Red Table Talk.”</p>, <p>Pinkett explained that her marriage was “going through a very difficult time” when she got into an “entanglement” with August.</p>
