<p>It depends on A and B [The decision you'll make]</p> <p><br></p> <p>We're on a mission to help one million people RISE by 2030 - join the movement at <a href="http://www.myrise.co.uk/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.myrise.co.uk</a></p> <p><br></p> <p>Have you ever thought you’ve made a decision for “no reason”.</p> <p>Done something and immediately questioned why you did it?</p> <p>Maybe regretted it?</p> <p>I’m sure you have.</p> <p>Because we all have.</p> <p>You might have done it last night or be about to do it tonight.</p> <p>But there’s always a reason.</p> <p>Despite how it may feel otherwise at times, we are rational beings.</p> <p>We might question the just how rational the decision was.</p> <p>But there was a rationalisation there.</p> <p>Even if we don’t realise it.</p> <p>And often that rationalisation is a comparison of two things;</p> <p>A – How you feel now</p> <p>B – How you think this decision will make you feel</p> <p>If we think the decision will make us feel better quickly, we’re more likely to make it.</p> <p>We may be vaguely aware that it’ll contribute to a worse feeling down the line.</p> <p>But that quick rationalisation has led us to feel it’s worth doing.</p> <p>So, if we want to make different decisions, we have two variables to play with.</p> <p>A and B.</p> <p>We could change how we feel now.</p> <p>Put things in place so we generally feel better.</p> <p>More sleep, better eating, regular exercise, relaxation practices, journaling, gratitude practices, etc.</p> <p>All easier said than done, sure.</p> <p>But all doable.</p> <p>If we feel better to start with than we’ll probably feel less need to bridge that gap.</p> <p>And we can challenge how we think the decision will make us feel.</p> <p>Accept that there’s a part of it that will make us feel better.</p> <p>But that it might not lead to a net gain.</p> <p>It might not be worth it.</p> <p>Remember, we never make decisions for no reason.</p> <p>At least underpinning those reasons is;</p> <p>A – How you feel now</p> <p>B – How
