Is it okay to be submissive without papers?

In a relationship that’s not defined is it okay to give your all and a half of what you give is given back? I can’t see myself being in a relationship where I submit to you like we are married and the relationship has not been defined. You deal with this and later you find it was a waste of your time and you had no intentions of making the relationship a committed relationship. They just enjoyed the benefits.
