Index investing: What are the dos and don'ts

Nifty Next 50 Index has corrected over 7% over the last few weeks. The index had 14% exposure to Adani group companies, which have corrected sharply since short-seller Hindenburg's Jan 24 report. In spite of this, index-based investing remains an important low-cost option for investors, especially in the large-cap space, as actively-managed funds find it challenging to outperform the large-cap indices.
