Description

An independent panel has completed its evaluation for wastewater infrastructure funding in Cooraclare and Broadford. In April of 2022, Clare County Council lodged applications for the inclusion of the villages in a €50m pilot programme aimed at providing treatment facilities in unsewered areas. In August, a shadow of doubt was cast over the submissions after a ministerial directive ordered the dezoning of lands in both parishes previously marked for residential use in the county development plan. Responding to Ennistymon Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway on the matter, party colleague and Minister of State for Development, Martin Heydon insists a decision is imminent.
