In the studio with Jeffrey Gibson

Mary Rozell, Global Head of the UBS art collection, meets artist Jeffrey Gibson at his studio in Hudson, New York. As well as Gibson’s life and work, they discuss two pieces – 2019’s “You have set my soul on fire”’ and 2020’s “Don’t you want me like I want you” – that UBS has recently acquired for its collection. Gibson explains how these works capture a unique visual vocabulary closely linked to his Cherokee and Choctaw heritage.
