Intercessions are prayers on behalf of others needs. There are many examples of this in Scripture and we are instructed to do the same, to pray for the needs of others like those in office, in authority, in government positions. They have needs as do we and so we pray on their behalf, that is we go before the Father and make requests for them of blessing, healing, protections, wisdom and so on. In this PrayerPodcast we have several Scriptures to bring to our Heavenly Father in prayer for our nation and government, including Hebrews 10:25, Hebrews 13:7, Romans 1:21, Titus 2:12, Proverbs 26:6, John 17:15. God would not have done it if Jesus had not prayed. I don’t have all the answers to my questions about prayer, it is a mystery but it is not to be neglected. The Necessity of it – What a privilege to go to our Father and ask of our needs; every aspect of Christian life, every dimension, is dependent on our prayers. It cannot be that prayer was necessity for Jesus and merely an option for me. The Activity of it – the How of praying: at all times in the Spirit – the only way to pray. It is in, through, and by the Spirit that prayer can take place, for those in the flesh cannot please God. To pray in the Spirit is to be prompted, enabled and guided by the word of God. Praying is fueled by the power of the Holy Spirit, framed by the Word of God. We ask God for what we know is pleasing to Him and for the things He has promised to do.
