This is serious. Peter allows no wiggle-room here! We can’t interpret this verse in a halfhearted way. Holiness defines God’s essence, and since God calls His people to be like Him, holiness isn’t optional for us!! The Holy One commands His chosen ones to be holy. No exceptions!! And if we have any doubts about the seriousness of Peter’s command, we should read Jesus’ equally serious words: “You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matt. 5:48). Amen! We will be taking a look at what is essential to our salvation? 🚩 OBEDIENCE TO CHRIST. 🚩 ENDURING to the END. 🚩 SANCTIFICATION. 🚩 REPENTANCE. Our Heavenly wants us to molded and conformed in the image of His Son: Romans 8:29-30, "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified." Amen! The key thing is that we must be prepared to meet the Living God! Everything else we are striving in this world to accomplish and prepare for, well that must take a backseat! All that we do in the present, is temporal. Eternity waits for us all! We should be preparing to exist in eternity. Eternity has two destinations, the Kingdom of God and the Lake of Fire! Which direction are you headed? We must know that we are heading toward eternal life. That is why we all must examine where we are in the faith. And consider all the ways we take before the Lord! He knows it all. He sees all. And we will be judged by those things written in the books that are being recorded in Heav
