<p><strong>Monday 3rd May&nbsp;2021</strong></p> <p>I want to Pray but what do I say. 3</p> <p>What exactly is prayer? Prayer is simply talking to God.&nbsp; Effective prayer is a two - way communication, it is not a monologue. It is one thing for us to talk to God and another thing entirely for us to be able to listen to Him communicate back to us.</p> <p>Luke 11:1-4 (NLT), <em><strong>Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” 2Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: “Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. 3 Give us each day the food we need, 4 and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation.</strong></em></p> <p>The reason the disciples of Jesus asked Him to teach them how pray was not because they had not been praying, it was because of what they observed in &nbsp;Jesus’ prayer that was clearly &nbsp;absent in theirs. disciples came from Jews culture that has strict regulation regarding prayer. They saw the intimacy of Jesus’ prayer, they saw the transforming power and even though prayer was already part of the Jewish worship, the things they saw in Jesus’ prayer were not part of their traditional prayer culture.</p> <p>When they asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, Jesus’ response was a proof that they asked a very important question and Jesus actually taught them how to pray. He taught them to pray in a way that was different from how they had always prayed traditionally. He gave them a prayer model that we often refer to as the Lord’s prayer. Jesus taught them a prayer model to guide them in their prayer to God.</p> <p>In the prayer model that Jesus gave them, He said, “This is how you should pray: “Father, may your name be kept holy”.</p> <p>From this, it is clear that we are communicating with a Person. Our prayer is not to a lifeless object it is to a Person. It is not praying to an unknown entity or a r
