Description

Dwadasha Jyotirlinga Stotram

As we all know, Lord Shiva is generally worshiped in the form of a lingam. Lingam is the mark or sign of the Almighty or the phallus symbol. A Jyotirlinga is a shrine where Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of a fiery column of light. It is said that Lord Shiva first manifested himself as a Jyotirlinga on the night of the Arudra festival.

There are twelve traditional Jyotirlinga shrines in India and this hymn composed by Adi Shankara is a prayer to the Almighty Lord Shiva in the form of these Jyotirlingas.
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/venkataraman-m/message
