Description
Jesus said those recognized as having authority lord it over us, rather than showing humility and meekness. We are reminded to be ready for every good deed, peaceable and to malign no one.

Our PrayerPodcast today for those in government authority is from Titus 3:1-2

What a man is on his knees before God, that he is, and nothing more. Robert Murray M’Cheyne

PRAY BIG: Learn To Pray Like An Apostle

What does prayer reveal to us about ourselves and our faith? A great deal, says Pastor Alistair Begg. Conversation let’s us know what is on our minds, while private prayer shows us what is on our hearts. What we pray, if we actually do, and for whom we pray will give us great insight to our real beliefs and priorities.

Alistair wants to pray bigger and better, and wants us to, too. Do we pray big prayers? Do we struggle with prayer? Do we pray to make a deal with God, or are we tentative in prayer requests because we’re not sure God will come through, or are our prayers a self-centered presentation of our shopping list of worldly requests to Him?

We can learn to pray bigger and better, and so we need to discover how to pray as Paul did, which means we need to learn to believe what Paul did.

Who Did Paul Speak To

The Apostle knew he was praying to God as Father, not a father, but our Father, the one from whom comes grace and peace (Eph 1:2). In 1 John 3:1 we see what kind of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.

We are children of God! He sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying “Abba! Father!” Galatians 4:6-7

Says Alistair: God sent his Son to make us sons, and Paul knew God as his Father and understood the great truth that, as Christians, in prayer we do not only approach a majestic Sovereign or an impartial Judge – we approach our Father in heaven.

What We Say To Him

If not knowing -- or
