During his tenure, he declared a budget crisis, built two stadiums, created a $60 million development fund and built many miles of river trails. You were one of the pioneers in many developments in Pittsburgh when very few people saw the opportunity.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Eve:</strong> [00:01:50] You were the second longest serving mayor in the history of Pittsburgh. And in 1994, when Pittsburgh wasn't sure what it was going to become, was really on the verge of collapse. And you shepherded the city through a very turbulent transition from a place that had emptied out with the closing of steel mills and suburban flight, to a city transformed almost every respect.
