Description
The Minister for Housing has revealed the government is "open" to extending affordable housing to towns and villages across Clare. An Affordable Housing Scheme is where the local authority assists members of the public to purchase a housing unit by purchasing a percentage of the house they wish to buy. At present, Clare County Council is only seeking expressions of interest for affordable housing in Ennis and Shannon. However, Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien says the government isn't opposed to extending the scheme beyond the two towns in the near future.
