Description

Today will be a bit warmer than yesterday as the trough is replaced by a ridge and winds return to a southerly direction. Temps will climb into the lower 90’s and south winds will be breezy at 15-25 mph. In addition, we could see some isolated evening thunderstorms with trough dipping into northeast CO. Wednesday an upper-level ridge begins to rebuild over the 4-Corners into the Plains and shifts east over the area Thursday and Friday with hot 100-degree heat, breezy south winds, and dry conditions elevating drought and fire concerns. Friday night and Saturday ridge flattens some with some isolated storm chances returning in the evenings and overnights. Saturday’s temps will only slightly cool into the mid to upper 90’s.
