<p>In this segment, we interviewed Kristen Giroux who is the Deputy Director at IPH, formerly Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless. She discusses how IPH is responding during the COVID-19 outbreak, what this pandemic has shown about areas of need for the homeless population, and how individuals can support IPH.</p><p>Kristen Giroux is a licensed master social worker with 14 years’ experience working in human services. Kristen has been responsible for the development, growth, and strengthening of IPH’s diverse programs for the past eleven years. During her tenure, she has successfully written grants totaling over $1.5 million at the federal, state, county, and city levels. She is currently a Co-Chair of the Albany County Coalition on Homelessnessand serves on two of the Coalition’s committees. She is dedicated to serving the most vulnerable members of the community and ensures that IPH continues to provide the highest quality services. From her experience beginning as an intern while pursuing her master’s degree, she currently applies that experience at a decision-making level to actively improve homeless service systems while addressing the structural and institutional causes of poverty and homelessness.</p>
