Description

In chapter three, we follow the children on the next three days of their journey. While each day seems to be quite like the last day in terms of looking for cheap food, finding hidden but safe shelter, following the lead set by Dicey, the children start to become aware of their situation. They realize the reality of the fact that they have been deserted and start picking at each other about their problems. At one point, they have a discussion about their father and wonder or rather share with each other, what they remember about their father, their parents and what life was like for them before they were deserted. The chapter is meant for us to get to see the children as individuals and to better understand their role in the future of the story. We reach the end of Day Four.
