<p>Who wants to chat about animation, new wave, and early 80s heavy metal? This episode is wild by any of my usual standards. The topics veer all over the place and the music is wackier than normal. Hope you like it! </p> <p>This one covers the making of Heavy Metal, the amalgamation of many different animation studios all working overtime to complete their different segments, the difference between Taarna and the original Moebius story "Arzach" or Arzack or whatever, the anarchic and confrontational post-Kent-State-Massacre origins of DEVO, the resurgance of Sabbath in an era where pretty much EVERYone wanted them to die, a Lester Bangs review of Stevie Nicks' "Belladonna", the creation of Blue Oyster Cult's insignia, and Cheap Trick cutting ties with their problematic bassist in order to take on a much more problematic bassist. <br /> <br /> I'm likely committing the final Hank Williams episode to the new Patreon account, as well as some Van Halen content, Guns n' Roses backstory, then some Nine Inch Nails & Joy Division bonus material that won't fit on my upcoming episode for "The Crow". And it will continually feature lot of historical readings on the origins of Rock n' Roll I haven't been able to assign to any previous episodes yet.
