Heather Ann Thompson interview

<p>Tonight’s guest is Pulitzer Prize winning author and historian Dr. Heather Ann Thompson. Dr. Thompson presently teaches at the University of Michigan but has worked at American and British collegiate academe since 1997. Last January Dr. Thompson helped co-found the History Studio with locations in New York, Detroit, and Los Angeles. The History Studio helps authors, producers, and documentarians make their projects a reality and have a greater impact in the public realm.</p> <p>In 2016 Dr. Thompson published her first book “Blood in the Water: The Attica Prison Uprising of 1971 and its legacy” which achieved critical acclaim from American and international literary publications. It is a brilliant account of the Attica Prison Uprising and it earned her the Pulitzer Prize and Bancroft Prize along with numerous awards from esteemed legal and literary associations and societies.</p>
