Description

Hazy smoke-filled skies from fires out west dissipates slowly as temperatures warm this week, while ridge out west de-amplifies allowing some troughing to move through tomorrow and Thursday. This will result in light southerly winds and temperatures warming into the upper 80’s and low 90’s. Late in the week and over the weekend, the high-pressure ridge axis moves out of the Rockies and back over the Plains, warming temperature further into the mid to upper 90’s and prolonging our dry summer. Last week’s drought monitor had moderate drought returning to the area, and that could worsen over the next 10-days, which are forecasted to be dry with some excessive heat potential.
