Gunmen kidnap man in Tambuwal, Sokoto

<p>Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Aliyu Maidamma, brother to late businessman, Alhaji Dikko Chemist.</p>, <p>He was reportedly kidnapped after sporadic gunshots in Tambuwal town, headquarters of Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State.</p>, <p>The suspected bandits were said to be on a reprisal attack after their colleagues were neutralised in Kebbe area, 45 kilometers away from Tambuwal by security operatives.</p>, <p>Military personnel are camped in Kebbe town, the headquarters of Kebbe Local Government Area, which is located in one of the remotest parts of the State.</p>, <p>A source from Tambuwal town explained that the bandits storm Tambuwal motor park at about 9 pm in their numbers, shooting sporadically, before kidnaping Maidamma.</p>, <p>He added that those who saw them said they were heading to Kebbe town.</p>, <p>The source said, “there was no light in Tambuwal when the attack took place, which gave bandits the opportunity to carry out the attack successfully without resistance.”</p>, <p>Calls put to the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ahamed Rufa’e, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, did not go through.</p>
