Gunmen abduct Lagos govt official in Ikorodu

<p>A yet-to-be identified official of Lagos State government has been reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen.</p>, <p>It was gathered that the incident occurred on Monday at the residence of the victim, popularly known as Jagaban at the Progressive Estate in Igbe-Oloja, Ikorodu.</p>, <p>The victim, according to reports, is a senior staff of the Revenue Department at Government House, Alausa.</p>, <p>The kidnappers were said to have established contact with the wife of the victim, demanding N20 million for his release.</p>, <p>A team of policemen and other security agencies were said to be hovering in and around the area searching for clues that could lead to his rescue.</p>, <p>The Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the ugly development to Vanguard, but failed to provide details of the incident.</p>, <p>“All I can tell you is that we received such a report but I cannot tell who he is. All I know is that our men are there and doing everything possible to rescue the man and apprehend the hoodlums that kidnapped him”, he said.</p>
