Description
Newmarket-On-Fergus has moved one step closer to retaining a permanent GP service. It comes as the Saffron and Blue Medical Clinic has been granted permission to convert a residential chalet at Carrigoran House to a dedicated General Practice. The Newmarket-On-Fergus Community Forum has been lobbying for a replacement service in the village centre following the retirement of Dr.Colm Hackett after forty years of service in 2019. Local Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat McMahon says while the news at Carrigoran comes as a welcome short term relief, the provision of a village centre facility would be the most accessible option.
