Dr. Mitchell mentions the thrill that he received when listeners wrote to him. He would take time out of his day to personally respond to each letter with a hand written note of encouragement to the listener. I too received his letters as well. Now in this lesson, Dr. Mitchell leads us through Mark 8:34-38 when Jesus gives his disciples and the people with him the revelation of what a real disciple is, one of self denial. Our Lord Jesus explains concerning being ashamed of Him and of His words in this present generation. It is a mark of discipleship to put Christ and His words first in one’s life then also before the people of this generation.
