Gospel of Mark - Mark 8:31-33 - Prog 37

Our study is in Mark 8:31-33 as the Lord Jesus prepares His disciples for His coming suffering, death and resurrection. Dr. Mitchell gives us an understanding as to the need for Jesus to die for our sin before a holy, righteous God. And in so doing, He made it possible for this holy righteous God to love us and show His mercy, grace and forgiveness to each one of us. This is now guaranteed to us by God having raised the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead in the same identical but glorified body as was crucified on the cross. We next read of how Satan tempted Peter in his ignorance to try to thwart God’s purpose for the Savior, even this one who was close to Him.
