Gospel of Mark - Mark 6:30-44 - Prog 30

In our passage, Mark 6:30-44, Mark presents the Savior once again. Here Jesus cares for His disciples and takes them on a retreat to rest for a while. Then Jesus feeds 5000 men and their families. He does this miracle because He had compassion on them for they were like sheep without a shepherd, so He taught them. Have you experienced the compassion of our Lord Jesus? Have His words been comforting and encouraging to you from the good shepherd? This miracle is the only one that is recorded in all 4 gospels. And in the Gospel of John this miracle is followed by Jesus’s statement that He is the bread of life, both in His person and His work, that He has come down from heaven to give life to the world.
