Gospel of Mark - Mark 1:21-24 - Prog 10

Jesus, after coming into the region of Galilee and calling His first 4 disciples to follow Him, He now enters the town of Capernaum, and it was the sabbath. So we see Jesus in the synagogue teaching the people. They were taken aback at the authority with which our Lord spoke. His teaching was not as the scribes taught. Jesus spoke with an authority not seen from their professional scribes. Then along comes a man who entered into the synagogue having an unclean spirit. This spirit spoke directly to Jesus. He knew who Jesus was but the Lord Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit with authority. Demons have no right to proclaim who Christ is. Let’s turn to Mark 1:21 with Dr. Mitchell as he shows us the savior as one having authority over demonic powers.
